At first glance Sara Fujiwara’s works appear to be abstract paintings, when in fact they are photographs. This new series “Melting Petals” features images of poppy flowers she encountered in France. She printed the photographs and transferred them to a print-like sheet, to which she applied a special solvent that strips them down. Works from 2011 through the present are on display.
